Türkiye's solar panel manufacturer CW Enerji benefited from the skilful hands of 235 women in 2017 in solar panel production, which requires a sensitive production process.
CW Enerji, operating in Antalya Organised Industry, increased its employment figures by 5 and a half times compared to 2016. CW Enerjiattaches importance to women's employment, and 235 of its 530 employees with SSI are women. CW Enerji aims to employ 2 thousand people in 2018, 50 per cent of whom will be women. As Türkiye approaches the 100th anniversary of the Republic, it aims to reach its gross domestic product to 2 trillion dollars in 2023 and to be among the world's leading countries by increasing its per capita national income above 25 thousand dollars, to reduce the unemployment rate to 5 per cent, and to increase the employment of women from 29.5 per cent to 41 per cent.
Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors ofCW Enerji, underlined that women, who are pushed out of the labour market for various reasons, should be made more active in the economy. Pointing out that Türkiye needs to make progress in women's employment in order to strengthen its economy, Tarık Sarvan said that CW Enerji had an increasing employment rate, especially in 2017, and that they were recently awarded the ‘company with the highest employment increase’ award of the year by the Antalya Organised Industrial Zone (AOSB).
