Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, Türkiye's leading solar panel manufacturer, said that they will increase their solar panel production capacity from 420 MW to 920 MW with their new factory. Sarvan stated that at the end of 2018, they are preparing to commission another factory in Antalya Free Zone, which they plan to start with a production capacity of 120 MW in the first stage and increase it up to 500 MW.
Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji , Türkiye's leading solar panel manufacturer, stated that as of the end of 2017, CW Enerji has 420 MW solar panel production capacity in its existing factories and that they will move to their new factory in Antalya Organised Industrial Zone with a production capacity of 920 MW solar panels in 46 thousand square metres in the middle of 2018. Tarık Sarvan noted that all agreements have been reached for another factory in Antalya Free Zone, which they plan to start with a production capacity of 120 MW in the first stage and increase it up to 500 MW by the end of 2018.
Stating that they exported to 12 countries as of the end of 2017, Tarık Savan said, ‘While we are currently exporting to approximately 12 countries, especially Germany, Romania, Switzerland, Iran, Morocco, Kosovo, Tunisia, Syria and Iraq, we will export to at least 20-25 countries with our new factory. We aim to sell products to new markets in America, Europe and Africa.’
Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji , emphasising that R&D and P&D are indispensable forCW Enerji , said the following:
‘There are nearly 100 engineers in our company. OurR&D and P&D team is 20 people. We are not an R&D centre, but we work like an R&D centre and develop innovative products. OurR&D unit produces a lot of products related to the sector. At the moment, we have developed a special waterproof roof tile for our roofs, which we call the tile of the century, developed by our engineers for the first time in Türkiye. We have produced our sealed solar panels suitable for the roof, which we call the tile of the century, with special rubber, suitable for the roof, water-air-moisture-temperature impermeable, resistant to all weather conditions. You can use the sealed solar panel frame system suitable for the roof either as a roof tile or as a sandwich panel. The roof tiles are more successful than existing roof tiles while providing insulation. Since we can generate electricity from every square metre where the sun falls and the outer surface of these tiles is constantly exposed to the sun, we equipped the outer surface with solar panels. With these tiles, which can also provide insulation, we have made it possible to meet your electrical energy from the sun. We have successfully completed the test stages of our sealed solar panels suitable for the roof, which we call the tile of the century. We have now made our sample sample as a car port - car garage in front of our own factory. We are starting mass production. We are building it on a cold storage. In this way, we will gradually raise awareness of our market and introduce our customers to our innovative product. With the sealed solar panel system product suitable for the roof, the houses of the next century will be designed and this product will provide very important side benefits to both construction companies and users. We have started mass production of this product, which we produce in all sizes and dimensions, in the range of 15 watts to 335 watts. We will sell it both to our own country and to countries around the world. Firstly, we plan to export to Europe and the Arabian Peninsula. You will be able to access the product through our sales points in our country. We are proud. May our new national panel, our sealed solar panel system suitable for the saving roof be beneficial to our country.’
Stating that the average local content rate inCW Enerji products is 55 per cent, Sarvan said, ‘In fact, there is a chance to provide domestic raw materials in almost all products except for cells. But unfortunately, we have to prefer imported products due to the fact that the sector has not yet reached the world standards in terms of both the response to the needs of the sector and the quality due to the fact that the sector has not yet reached the world standards in terms of quality. In this case, the incentives of our country and the investments to be made by other entrepreneurs to address the sector come to the fore rather than our targets in localisation. There are more than 40 solar panel manufacturers in our country, both small and large, and the raw materials have to be brought from abroad due to the existing requirements in terms of both quality and quantity. Extra support for domestic panel production will lead to the growth of the sector and the growth of domestic raw material manufacturers.’
Evaluating the development process of the domestic industry in Türkiye's solar energy sector, Tarık Sarvan made the following statements:
‘650 MW solar power plant was established in Türkiye in 2016. At the end of 2017, the total installed capacity of solar power plants reached 3 thousand 421 MW. The contribution of grid-connected solar energy production to total consumption reached 2.5 per cent. Türkiye is in a position to utilise this energy much more efficiently with its 2,737 hours of total annual sunshine and 1527 kWh/m2 annual average solar energy amount. The cost decrease in solar panels and the increase in panel efficiency have accelerated solar energy investments. We are pleased that the solar energy sector in Türkiye and the awareness of solar energy production is increasing. However, domestic producers cannot get the required share from the market. Although China achieved a GES installed capacity of over 50 GW in 2017, Türkiye's installed capacity of 2.5 GW, while China uses domestic solar panels produced in its own country, Türkiye's use of Chinese origin solar panels reduces the growth momentum of domestic producers. As a company producing domestic solar panels, we have a 4 percent share of 300 MW in Türkiye's solar power plant installed capacity of 3,421 MW in total. AsCW Enerji, despite our 4 per cent market share, we are the domestic solar panel manufacturer with the largest market share in Türkiye with our 300 MW installed capacity. The market share of domestic solar panels is very low. Although protective measures such as surveillance and anti-dumping have been introduced in Türkiye to prevent the import of foreign-made panels, the domestic producer has not reached the desired market share.’
Underlining that a serious solar electricity generation sector was formed in Türkiye in 2017 and before, Sarvan said, ‘Even among the facilities completed in 2017, we see that Türkiye is the first in the league in total capacity in Europe. For this reason, we foresee that solar energy industrialists can invest in Türkiye in order to share their experiences and provide new commercial opportunities to countries that have just established their regulations and feed-in tariff mechanisms on SPP . As one of them, we are planning to actively participate in the fairs of countries such as Iran, Morocco, South Africa, Jordan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany and Ghana and make commercial breakthroughs in these countries.’
Tarık Sarvan, who stated thatCW Enerji will participate in Solarex Istanbul Fair on 5-7 April, said that the fair is the most preferred commercial meeting point of the region for the investments of the solar sector, where solutions for solar technologies that give life to the products in our lives are exhibited together, growing every year with its qualified visitors. Tarık Sarvan stated that they aim to increase their trade volumes by showing their production power together with the opportunity to meet with the decision makers of the solar industries from Türkiye, Central and Western Europe, Balkans, Russia, Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa. Stating that they met with their strong partners and sales point networks they have established in the world countries at this fair, Sarvan noted that they even had the opportunity to add new sales points to their network.
Sarvan stated that at the 2018 Solarex fair, they will tell the visitors about the small and large-scale roof and land type photovoltaic, photovoltaic irrigation projects, ‘power pack off-grid’ system projects that they have completed in all four corners of Türkiye. Tarık Sarvan also said that CWEnerji will introduce the power pack, smart box compact (inverter, battery, charge control device together, plug and play device), roof tiles developed by its own engineers, BIPV glass glass coloured cell exterior cladding panels, PERC cell panels and solar panels, which are produced by CWEnerji with German technology and Turkish engineering, to both domestic and foreign visitors. Underlining that they are a company that keeps up with the renewed technology and renews their production lines in accordance with the technology every day and increases their product range, Sarvan stated that they will convey the certification and warranty processes of their products to their visitors. Tarık Sarvan emphasised that the fair will present a positive picture of the energy future of our country.
