CW Enerji Became PV CYCLE Member

- Türkiye's leading solar panel manufacturer CW Enerji became a member of PV CYCLE, the solar PV recycling association.

- CW Enerji, Türkiye's leading solar panel manufacturer, has become a member of PV CYCLE, the solar PV recycling association, to ensure the recycling of solar panels that have completed their life cycle. Reminding that they are the only photovoltaic energy company in Türkiye that is a member of PV CYCLE, Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, said: ‘We are proud to be a member of PV Cycle, a European organisation for recycling our unusable panels with high recovery rates.’

Stating that photovoltaic solar panels are a clean and sustainable energy source, Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji , stated that it is possible to generate electricity with an efficiency of over 80 per cent for 25 years using solar panels. Underlining that after 25 years of efficiency, solar power plants, which are an environmentally friendly energy source, will not turn into a garbage dump, Tarık Sarvan said, ‘At this point, photovoltaic panels should be recycled by people specialised in their field. With this recycling, some of the materials used in the panel can be recovered and used again. Thus, the photovoltaic industry becomes sustainable in financial, environmental and technical terms.’

Emphasising that the recycling of laminated panels requires expertise and infrastructure as they have a complex structure, Tarık Sarvan said, ‘As a result of the recycling process of first generation silicon-based panels, some chemicals such as silicon, silver, tin, lead, aluminium, etc. are obtained and both an economic gain is obtained and pollution of this environmentally friendly energy source is prevented by preventing their mixing with nature.’
