Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, was honored with a plaque by Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality Women and Family Services Directorate for giving importance to women's rights with 46 percent female employment.
Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality Women and Family Services Directorate organized a series of events in front of Alyazma Women's Counseling Center and Alyazma Monument within the scope of March 8 International Working Women's Day. In the event, all participants dressed in purple, the color of equality, and drew attention to the place of women in society. In order to react to violence against women, the participants popped red balloons and chanted slogans such as “Be brave, pop it, start the change” and “Pop it, let everyone hear, let the violence end”. Following the slogans, a statement prepared by the officials of Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality Women and Family Services Directorate on the meaning and importance of the day regarding the place and importance of women in society was read.
During the event, Antalya Muratpaşa Municipality Directorate of Women and Family Services presented plaques to businesswomen, women in politics, sports and other fields, and men who advocate for women's rights. Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, was honored with a plaque for the fact that 249 of his 542 employees with SSI are women, that his company contributes 46 percent to women's employment and that he attaches importance to women's rights. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, whose plaque was presented by Deputy Mayor of Muratpaşa Municipality İbrahim Cephaneci, was the only man to receive an award at the event.
Speaking at the event, Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, congratulated all women on International Women's Day. Stating that CW Enerji is proud to be deemed worthy of such an award, Tarık Sarvan underlined that women, who are pushed out of the labor market for various reasons, should be made more active in the economy. Pointing out that women are not preferred by employers due to their family responsibilities in addition to working life, Sarvan emphasized that Türkiye needs to make progress in women's employment in order to strengthen its economy. Stating that they are proud to be a company that contributes to the employment of women, whose main duty is seen as childcare and housework, Tarık Sarvan said that the number of employees with SSI increased 5 and a half times from 102 in 2016 to 542 in March 2018, while female employment increased to 249 and reached 46 percent. Stating that they benefit from the skillful hands of women in solar panel production, which requires a sensitive production process, and that they are the gateway of employment for a thousand people together with CW Enerji Group and subcontractors, Tarık Sarvan stated that they aim to increase this number to 2 thousand people, 50 percent of whom are women, by mid-2018. Tarık Sarvan said, “We wish more companies like us that contribute to women's employment. Happy Women's Day to all our women.”
