The provisional acceptance of the micro-rooftop Solar Power Plant (SPP) with a total power of 15.5 kilowatt-peak installed in a detached house in the Döşemealtı district of Antalya by CW Enerji operating in Antalya Organised Industrial Zone has been completed.
Published in the Official Gazette on 18.01.2018, the procedures and principles regarding unlicensed generation applications for generation facilities based on solar energy connected from the same measurement point with the consumption point in the electricity market and the evaluation of surplus energy prepared by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) entered into force. With the regulation, the procedure for the implementation of rooftop solar energy systems with a power of 10 kWe or less was simplified, the installation was facilitated and the process was accelerated. Following the regulation, CW Enerji, operating in Antalya Organised Industrial Zone, installed a solar power plant on the roof of a detached house in Döşemealtı district of Antalya.
In the 15.5 kilowatt-peak (kWp) rooftop micro SPP project, 50 CW Enerji / CWT 310 - 60 PM brand model solar panels and 1 Huawei Sun2000 - 12 KTL inverter were used. This SPP project, in whichCWEnerji, as the contractor company, carried out panel supply, engineering and EPC (implementation), was completed in 6 days. The provisional acceptance of the project was received on 19 October 2018 and it has been made ready for use.
With the installation of 15.5 kWp SPP , the electricity of an average of 8 households per year can be met with renewable energy and an average of 11.63 tonnes of CO2, 35 kg SO2 and 13 kg NOx gas emissions can be reduced annually. The 15.5 kWp solar power plant is planned to generate an average of 65.82 kWp of electricity per day and 24,025 kWp per year. Each kWp surplus energy produced in the power plant will be sold to the distribution company to generate additional income.
Volkan Yılmaz, General Manager ofCW Enerji Mühendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi AŞ, stated that the simplification of the procedure for the implementation of roof-type solar energy systems with a power of 10 kWe and below, the facilitation of the installation and the acceleration of the application process are pleasing for the solar energy sector and said:
‘The application was made easier, and in case of moving out of the house, the opportunity to transfer the roof power plant to the new owner or tenant of the house was provided. Citizens who want to generate electricity will be able to make their application to the central or provincial unit of the distribution company. Distribution companies will receive the applications on a monthly basis and finalise them by the 20th of the following month. The citizen whose project is approved will be able to start generating electricity and sell the surplus electricity to the distribution company through the existing network.’
Stating that an unlimited and free resource such as the sun, which is an environmentally friendly, clean energy source, should be utilised to the fullest, General Manager Volkan Yılmaz emphasised that solar energy should be utilised to the fullest in energy production to ensure environmental sustainability and minimum carbon footprint in nature.
